DOE Launches Web Site for Spanish-Speaking Families
A Web site designed to provide Spanish-speaking families with greater access to information about New Jersey’s education system and the various state resources that are available has been launched by the Department of Education, officials announced today.
The Web site , contains information on scholarships, English as a second language classes for adults, resources for children with disabilities, the No Child Left Behind Act and educational rights. It also offers general resources for parents to help their children become better students.
The C.A.R.E. Program
The C.A.R.E. Program is currently accepting students in grades 4th through 9th grade. Students must be residents of Pleasantville. There are three locations to attend: Middle School of Pleasantville, and Leeds Avenue School, South Main Street School. Program hours are Monday through Friday from 3:00pm – 6:00pm during the school year, and 9:00am – 3:00pm during the summer session.
C.A.R.E. offers homework help/tutoring, technology, self development, sports, games, nutrition, gardening, performing arts, visual arts, and academic enrichment.
