 JROTC Introduction

 

JROTC also known as Junior Reserve Officers Training Corp is a program that is designed to help students improve and become more developed individuals prepared for their successful future.

The program also includes extra-curricular seasonal activities (Drill, Raiders, and Archery) that are available to all grades from 9th to 12th

The mission of JROTC is "to motivate young people to become better citizens.

Drill

What is drill about?

Drill refers to the practice of performing military-based routines, following commands, and synchronized movements in formations as a unit. 

Through drill, cadets learn discipline, attention to detail, and the importance of teamwork.

They get to:

Compete in competitions

Join in Parades

Participate in Ceremonies

Mastering drill helps develop leadership abilities, self-confidence, and a sense of pride in one’s unit in JROTC.

Color Guard
 
 

What is Color Guard about?

Color Guard is a group of cadets responsible for ceremoniously presenting the national flag at various events like;

School functions

Parades/ Ceremonies

Community gatherings

Typically marching in a precise formation while carrying the flag and sometimes along with rifles; Representation of honoring the nation and its symbols.

Raiders
 

What is raiders about?

Raiders is a specialized program within JROTC that focuses on military skills and leadership training. Raiders typically engages in more intense physical training, tactical exercises, and specialized competitions against other units. 

     Participation in the raiders unit can provide valuable experience and preparation for those interested in pursuing a career in the military.

What is archery about?

Archery is an activity that teaches cadets the fundamentals of archery, including proper shooting techniques, and safety protocols.

Through archery JROTC cadets develop;

Participating in archery also fosters teamwork and camaraderie among cadets as they work together to improve skills and compete against other JROTC programs
