There are programs and support groups that are available to your child, throughout the school year. Groups are facilitated by professionals that are trained in the specific area of concern. Times and details are in the process of being determined. If you have a concern about your child, please reach out to Ms. Carson x 3049 or your child’s respective Guidance Counselor.

Grief Counseling: This is a support group that meets during the school day to assist the student(s) that is suffering due to the death of a loved one and/or family member. Multiple sessions will occur. Each session will be for an eight-week period.

Trauma Support Group:  If there is an event that is difficult to process and accept, he/she can work through this with other students that are experiencing similar difficulties. Some examples are divorce, incarceration, bullying, or an experience of any nature that our champions perceive as traumatic.

Strengthening Families Program:  The entire family is invited to participate in a weekly dinner, followed by breakout sessions. These sessions are aimed at strengthening the family bonds that may get challenged as adolescents mature.  Parents and our Middle School Champions are separately given skills that can make this transition less stressful. This is an 8-10-week program in which specific times will be later determined.

Peer Mediation:  Several students are selected and trained to assist in normal conflict that may occur during the school day. This is aimed at promoting communication skills and giving our champions the opportunity, when appropriately referred, to resolve an impending problem/issue before it warrants discipline.
