Referrals:   If you have concerns about a student’s current speech (articulation, fluency, voice) abilities contact the Speech-Language Therapist.

• An observation will be conducted by the Speech-Language Therapist.
• If therapist suspects that the child would benefit from additional attention, strategies will be provided to the teacher that should be implemented during classroom time for approximately 6 weeks.
• Upon the 6 week intervention period, the therapist will consult with the teacher and observe child.
• If child continues to have difficulty in the suspected area an evaluation plan meeting will be scheduled to discuss further evaluation.
• If it is determined that testing is warranted, the therapist will need parental consent.
• Testing and a written report will be completed within a 90 day period.
• Results from the evaluation will be compiled and the therapist will determine if the child is eligible for services.

• An IEP meeting will be scheduled with the team to discuss results and appropriate services.
• The teacher may be provided with suggestions for the classroom.
